The 2005 Scientific Revival Day of Africa in Nigeria

The ATPS Nigeria Chapter celebrated the 2005 Scientific Revival Day of Africa at Top Rank Hotel, Enugu, Nigeria on 30 June 2005 in collaboration with the African Institute for Applied Economics (AIAE).
Dr Emenike Okoro, Project Leader, Integrated Cassava Project, International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) delivered a lecture on Technology Challenges of Cassava Commercialization and Industrialization in Nigeria.
Forty-seven participants, including policy makers represented by commissioners responsible for science and technology, agriculture and commerce, members of the state houses of assembly/representatives, farmers, students from universities and agricultural prefects of some selected secondary schools, academics, NGOs and the press attended the lecture.
Prof Michael Madukwe, the National Coordinator rated the 18th Anniversary of the Scientific Revival Day of Africa, "a huge success".
The Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria, Enugu and the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) aired the meeting repeatedly.
